Tasting Notes
Colour: Dark amber-gold. Nose: Intense, full of aromas – sherried fruit, tropical fruit, nutmeg and almonds with slight citrus notes at the end, all held together with a vanilla sweet smokiness Flavour: Full bodied rich and rounded develops slowly into fruity, smoky and spicy flavours. Finish: Long-lasting, smooth a smoky with a chocolate feel at the back of your throat. Comment: An incredibly rounded whisky that leaves you refreshed and contented. Described by the late Michael Jackson as ‘a straight forward Speyside classic’.
Distillery Notes
Glenfarclas is renowned for its full bodied and well sherried style. The distillery was purchased by the Grant family in 1865 and currently the 5th and 6th generation of the family own and manage the distillery, which is one of only a handful that are truly independent family run businesses. Independence gives Glenfarclas the freedom to be uncompromising in their commitment to the founding principle of producing superior quality Single Malt, in the traditional Speyside style.
