Tasting Notes
Nose: Opens fresh, salty and clean – developing to malted barley dried over peat – with a damp earthy character. Palate: What’s in a name? Ashes, sweet tar, bandages, beaches and smoking chimneys – all making up BIG PEAT. Finish: Long and lingering, it replicates the palate with salty liquorice, smoke, bonfire ashes - being foremost: PHENOLIC.
Distillery Notes
BIG PEAT “Vatted” Malt contains only fully phenolic Islay Malt Whiskies and is bottled in the traditional (and rather old fashioned style) without chill filtration at 46% alc vol. Includes Malts distilled at Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen.
