‘Deluxe’ is the term reserved for Scotch whiskies blended from a combination of malt and grain whiskies, each of which is at least 12 years old. By selecting only mature spirits, distilleries producing deluxe brands instill a high degree of mellowness to the whisky, creating a characteristically smooth spirit that is lighter in style than most single malts.
